Two Sisters, Nancy Akoth And Hariet Achieng Fatally Stabbed On Their Way Home From Work

The peaceful town of Kendu Bay Old Town was shaken by a horrifying incident as two sisters were brutally murdered while walking home on Thursday night. The local police are currently conducting an investigation into the heinous crime that has left the community in shock and mourning.

The victims, identified as Nancy Akoth, 35, and Hariet Achieng’, 26, were discovered lying on the road by residents who immediately alerted the patrolling police officers. According to eyewitnesses, the attack took place shortly before 11 pm, just as the sisters were returning home after finishing their respective work shifts.

Nancy Akoth worked as a waitress at a local restaurant, while Hariet Achieng’ served drinks at a nearby wine and spirits shop. Although they lived in separate residences within the same locality, the sisters would often accompany each other at night after the shops closed.

The sisters’ routine was tragically disrupted on the fateful day when they were viciously attacked by unknown assailants while walking along a tarmac road in Kendu Bay Old Town.

The attackers employed sharp objects, stabbing both sisters in the chest. The wounds proved fatal, and despite the prompt arrival of police officers at the scene, Nancy and Hariet succumbed to their injuries before receiving medical attention.

Tobias Aduda, the North East Karachuonyo Location Chief, revealed that one of the sisters, Nancy Akoth, had previously reported receiving threats, which were brought to the attention of the police. The motive behind the attack, however, remains unclear at this point, leaving investigators searching for answers.

Rachuonyo North Police Commander Lydia Parteiyie expressed her deep concern over the incident and assured the public that a thorough investigation was underway. The police have called for the community’s cooperation and assistance in bringing the perpetrators to justice. Anyone with information relevant to the case is urged to come forward and share it with the authorities.
