The troops of Operation HAKORIN DAMISA IV in Plateau State, Nigeria, demonstrated their professionalism and dedication in countering the threat of banditry.
On July 26, 2023, while conducting operations near Rugan/Basiru village in Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area, the troops came under fire from suspected bandits.
However, they responded with precision, forcing the attackers to retreat. During the operation, the troops seized 2 x AK 47 Rifles with Registration Numbers 07873 and B-32134, along with 15 rounds of 7.62 mm Special ammunition, 3 x locally fabricated guns, and a pair of military desert camouflage uniforms. Additionally, ten suspects were apprehended and are currently undergoing profiling.
On the same day, the troops foiled an attempted attack on Mangun and Patlong villages in Mangu Local Government Area. Their swift and decisive response resulted in the neutralization of several bandits, while others managed to escape with gunshot wounds.
The previous day, on July 25, 2023, troops responded to firing from suspected bandits along road Janneret/Washina Changal and Gyambwas in Mangu LGA. The bandits fled upon seeing the troops, leaving behind 3 x motorcycles and 1 x locally fabricated gun.
Further showcasing their dedication to protecting civilians, troops responded to a distress call at Rumfar Gwamna village, rescuing 5 kidnapped victims and recovering a Toyota Camry and Sharon cars.
In another operation, troops targeted criminal hideouts at Unguwan Haruna, Kibam, and Dogon Daji forest, successfully rescuing 4 victims and arresting 2 suspected kidnappers.
Earlier, on July 22, 2023, a distress call from Makabat village in Bokkos led to the capture of 2 miscreants and the recovery of 2 x locally fabricated rifles.
During operations in Fan District of Barkin-Ladi LGA, a Combat Team recovered 15 rustled cows, and 37 cows were arrested for grazing on farmlands belonging to locals in Shimlan and Barkin Ladi villages.
Furthermore, troops achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending a notorious gunrunner responsible for trafficking arms and ammunition in the North West and North Central regions. This operation led to the recovery of 1 x AK 47 Rifle and magazine at Soi village, Gidan Akwati Gashish District.
