The Kogi State Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal, sitting in Abuja on Monday, upheld the results of the election that saw All Progressives Congress candidate Usman Ododo emerge victorious as the state’s governorship elections.
The Social Democratic Party’s Murtala Ajaka filed a petition, but it was dismissed by the three-judge panel led by Justice Ado Birnin-Kudu because he did not provide sufficient evidence to support his claims as required by law.
According to section 135 of the Electoral Act, the tribunal determined that the petitioner had not demonstrated how the claimed irregularities were significant enough to influence the outcome of the entire election. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
