The Anambra Police Command has revealed that one business man was shot and killed at the Science Equipment Market, Head Bridge, Onitsha, by state anti-touting squad members.
Several more people were hurt, according to DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the command public relations officer, who verified the incident to reporters.
According to Mr. Ikenga, the incident occurred at the Head Bridge market on Friday at approximately 4:30 p.m. Aderemi Adeoye, the state’s commissioner of police, has requested an investigation into the events.
According to him, the commissioner of police has ordered the immediate transfer of a reported murder incident that happened at the Head Bridge market.
“Our officers led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Head Bridge, on receipt of the information, they got to the scene and saw a young man in a pool of his blood while another was injured.
“The victims were rushed to the hospital where the doctor confirmed one dead.
