Tinubu’s Ministerial List: ‘The Bar For Excellence Is Really Utterly Low’ – Rufai Oseni

Nigerian journalist and Arise TV host, Rufai Oseni, has expressed his displeasure with the standard of excellence regarding President Bola Tinubu‘s ministerial nominees.

FRESHREPORTERS MEDIA reported the release of the ministerial list, consisting of 28 nominees, including some former governors, which has sparked discussions among various parties.

While the ruling party claims the list is well-deserved, opposition parties argue that it falls short of Nigerians’ expectations, especially given the delay in presenting the list to the senate by President Tinubu.

Former Kaduna lawmaker, Shehu Sani, also shared his disapproval of the nomination of ex-governor Nasir El-Rufai, considering his past statements and actions during his tenure in Kaduna State, describing it as a “Tragedy.”

Taking to Twitter on Friday, Rufai Oseni remarked that the performance of the governors who made it to the ministerial list will be closely monitored. He stated that they will receive applause if they excel in their roles but will also face criticism if they fail to deliver.

In another tweet, Oseni expressed his displeasure at the recycling of old politicians as ministers and suggested that Nigeria deserves better than this. He emphasized the need for a higher standard of excellence in governance, calling for fresh faces and new perspectives to lead the nation forward.

He criticized the practice of treating governance as a mere game and urged for genuine efforts to improve the country’s condition.
