President Bola Tinubu has called on officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to maintain professionalism and ensure the timely transmission of election results during upcoming polls in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kano, and Rivers states.
The President stressed the need for transparency, orderliness, and strict adherence to electoral guidelines as INEC prepares to conduct elections across the six area councils of the FCT. He also urged security operatives to remain neutral and uphold the integrity of the process.
INEC is set to conduct bye-elections in Ahoada East II and Khana II state constituencies in Rivers, as well as Kano Municipal and Ungogo constituencies in Kano. The Commission is expected to deliver credible, free, and fair elections in line with constitutional requirements.
President Tinubu encouraged all stakeholders, including electoral officers and security personnel, to uphold democratic values and work toward peaceful polls that truly reflect the will of the people.
