Veteran Brazilian defender Thiago Silva has made an emotional return to FC Porto, signing a short-term contract with the Primeira Liga leaders over two decades after his first stint at the club.

The 41-year-old joins as a free agent after terminating his contract with Fluminense, in a move personally championed by Porto’s president, André Villas-Boas. Porto announced the deal will run until the end of the 2025–26 season, with a club option to extend it for an additional year through June 2027.
