‘That Is Wrong Signal’ – Buhari’s Ex-Aide Reacts As Nigeriens Claims Tinubu Is Waging War Against Them

The recent claims made by many Nigeriens, suggesting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is engaged in hostilities against them, have sparked a response from former Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad.

This follows a development where Oyo State Lawmaker, Akin Akinwale, shared an interview conducted by PUNCH with a Nigerian named Umar Abubakar.

Abubakar, who managed to escape from the Niger Republic, shed light on the sentiment among citizens of the country, stating that they believe Nigeria’s government is conducting a campaign against them.

Akinwale, in response to Abubakar’s revelations, emphasized the importance of raising awareness and educating the average citizens of Niger about the role of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) for their own benefit.

Bashir Ahmad, taking to Twitter to express his perspective, noted that the perception of President Tinubu’s intentions to restore democracy in Niger, in partnership with ECOWAS, is being misinterpreted.

He highlighted that recent efforts and interventions have shown promising results, and he remains hopeful that progress will continue in the coming days and weeks.

In a previous instance, the President of ECOWAS, Omar Alieu Touray, had revealed that the regional organization had taken measures to restore constitutional order in Niger Republic.

He affirmed ECOWAS’s stance against the military government and emphasized their commitment to peaceful methods in achieving the restoration of constitutional order.
