JUST IN: Yoruba Nation Agitators Storm Oyo Secretariat and Hoist Flag

Some individuals who are believed to be Yoruba nation agitators have forcefully entered the Oyo State Secretariat with the intention of taking over the House of Assembly Complex.

According to FRESHREPORTERS NEWS, the House of Assembly is situated within the state secretariat and is only a short distance away from the governor’s office.

Our reporter has gathered that on Saturday morning, the agitators stormed the secretariat in an attempt to seize control of the Assembly Complex.

It is understood that the agitators, dressed in military attire, engaged in a fierce firefight with members of the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN), also known as Amotekun, the Police, and Operation Burst personnel before ultimately being overwhelmed.

Sources indicate that the suspects had already occupied the assembly complex premises and mounted their flags before the arrival of additional security forces.

At the time of reporting, our correspondent has learned that the presence of the Police, Amotekun, and other security personnel has brought the situation under control.

FRESHREPORTERS NEWS has also received information that several of the agitators have been apprehended.

As a result of this incident, all roads leading to the secretariat have been deserted.

Our correspondent notes that this event occurred just a few months after some agitators took control of a radio station in Ibadan.

Efforts to obtain comments from the heads of security agencies in the state regarding this matter have been unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
