Abdullahi Ismail, a soldier, was fired from the Nigerian Army after it was discovered that the officer had sex with his colleague’s wife.
The Lance Corporal at 231 Battalion in Biu, Borno State, was dismissed during the week, it was learned.
His expulsion is likely to serve as a deterrence to those troops indulging in the crime which is alleged to be frequent in the barracks.
The discharged soldier had a known history of sexual indiscipline before he was reported to the army authorities, a source informed reporters.
He violated Sections 79 and 93 of the Armed Forces Act CAP A20, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 for his indecent professional misconduct and for having sex with the wife of a fellow soldier.
