Kite Festival in India has killed at least, six persons including children. The kite strings slit their throats during the festival over the weekend.
It was gathered today Wednesday that another 176 were injured as a result of cuts and falls during the Uttarayan festival in Gujarat, Indian police revealed.
It was noted that some participants used sharp strings to fly kites which ended up getting entangled around the necks of the victims, slitting their throats.
Another report stated on Sunday how one two-year-old indentified as Kirti, who was riding with her father on his two-wheeler in Bhavnagar city, got entangled in the kite strings and died amidst the festival.
A three-year-old known to be Kismat was also walking with her mother in a town identified as Visnagar on Saturday when a kite thread also slit her throat.
