Adeleke David, the Nigerian Afrobeat superstar and songwriter professionally known as Davido’s newest album, ‘Timeless’ has set a new record for the most first-day streams by an African album on Apple Music.
The Apple Music itself revealed made this known on Monday in a tweet shared via Apple Music Twitter page.
Apple Music tweeted “.#davido is breaking global records. The Nigerian superstar’s #Timeless had the most first-day streams ever for an African album on Apple Music.”
The ‘Timeless’ album amassed one million streams on Boomplay in just six hours after it was released on the streaming platform on Friday, 31st of March, 2023.
The album was also the No. 1 album on Nigeria’s Top Albums Chart, UK’s Top Albums Chart as well as in 17 other countries on Apple Music
