Senator Abdul Ningi’s allegations that his colleagues bloated the 2024 budget have gotten him a three-month suspension .
The proposal to suspend Ningi for a year was initially made by Jimoh Ibrahim, a senatorial member of the Appropriations Committee, in response to charges that he had spread false information and violated peace in the National Assembly and, by extension, the nation.
Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, among other legislators, attempted to alter Ibrahim’s proposal. Cross River South Senatorial District resident Ekpenyong appealed for the suspension to be lifted.
