ARCON reportedly queries staff over approval of ‘All Eyes on Judiciary’ Advert
The Director General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Olalekan Fadolapo, has reportedly issued a query to the Director of Regulations for granting approval to the ‘All Eyes on Judiciary’ billboard advertisement in Abuja.
The ARCON DG revealed this on Monday, expressing concern that the advertisement could be perceived as an attempt to blackmail the Nigerian Judiciary and the Honourable Justices of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
He further emphasized that the advert has the potential to incite public unrest and disrupt public peace.
The billboard, sponsored by Diaspora’s For Good Governance, carries the message “ALL Eyes on the Judiciary” and has emerged during a period of heightened anticipation as Nigerians await the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Speculations have arisen, though repeatedly denied, suggesting that the judges may be under pressure to favor President Tinubu’s continuation in office, despite alleged compelling reasons for his disqualification.
