Former Supreme Court Justice Denies Assisting President Tinubu in Influencing Tribunal Ruling

It has come to light that the presidential hopeful of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, along with Peter Obi from the Labour Party (LP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), are raising concerns about the outcome of the presidential election that took place on February 25, 2023.

A user on the social media platform Twitter, going by the name Jackson Ude, has put forward a claim that Justice Peter-Odili might be aiding Tinubu in gaining a favorable verdict from the tribunal.

In response to this allegation, a press release issued by her spokesperson, Felix Enebeli, conveys Justice Odili’s stance, labeling the assertion as “false and malicious.”

The statement reads, “While the legal aspect of the false allegation is being handled by her legal team, we find it crucial, especially for the public’s understanding, to firmly deny this baseless accusation.

“We reject all the claims made in the publication, highlighting that it is unfounded, malevolent, and a deliberate smear campaign aimed at tarnishing the reputation and honorable character of Justice Odili.

“Furthermore, it should be noted that this publication holds the potential to incite the public against Justice Odili on a matter of significant national importance.

“For clarity, Justice Odili is not acting as a legal consultant to anyone, nor is she in any manner linked to or involved in any of the presidential election petitions or any other election-related disputes. We urge the public to disregard and dismiss this false publication.”

Enebeli also mentioned that Odili’s legal team is addressing this issue and has requested a retraction and a public apology from Ude.
