Police in Delta State have arrested a 25-year-old security guard, Godwin Mngumi, in connection with the murder of retired judge Justice Ifeoma Okogwu in Asaba.
Confirming the arrest, the command’s spokesperson, SP Edafe Bright, stated that the late judge’s phone was recovered from the suspect.
According to the police, Mngumi confessed to inviting his friend, Nnaji Obalum, and a third accomplice to the residence where the crime was committed. Obalum has also been apprehended, while a manhunt is underway for the remaining suspect.
Justice Okogwu, a former judicial officer originally from Asaba, was discovered dead in her home on the night of November 23, 2025. Her killers had tied her limbs and ransacked the house during the attack.
