In a devastating turn of events, the bodies of three students who went missing during a boat mishap last week from Marina Resort to Oron have been discovered. Sadly, all three students have been confirmed deceased.
Among the victims were Mustapha Aminu Tukur and Kabiru Hamza, both 500-level medical students from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
The news of their passing has sent shockwaves through the university community and beyond. A lecturer, who had recently met with the students regarding an upcoming event, expressed deep sorrow over the loss.
The ill-fated incident occurred at the Marina Resort in Calabar, Cross Rivers State, where the students had been attending the annual event organized by the Nigeria Medical Student Association (NiMSA). The boat capsized, leading to the tragic loss of these promising young individuals.
The students union government of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria has issued a statement acknowledging the incident and extending condolences to the families and friends affected by the tragedy.
