Salesman Arraigned For Defrauding Employee N27.8m In Ogun State

Okusaga Isiaka, a 37 years old salesman, was arraigned on friday before an Ota Magistrates’ court for allegedly defrauding his employee of N27.8 million in Ogun State.

The court charged Isiaka with an offence that contravened Section 383(2) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

Inspector E. O. Adaraloye, who’s the prosecution officer told the court that the defendant whose address was not mentioned committed the offence on 15th of August, 2023 around 12.00 pm at Shaah Industries Ltd in the state.

As gathered by the Freshreporters Media, Adaraloye alleged that the defendant, being a salesman, collected the sum of N27.8 million from his employee and refused to remit the money to the company’s account.

“The defendant converted the said money to personal use instead of paying the money into his company’s account,” Adaraloye stated.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate O. O. Okiki granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.

Okiki ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the state government.

The case was further adjourned until September 9 for further hearing. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>
