Rivers police addresses k!ller of UNIPORT student

The Rivers State Police Command has issued a statement about a 400-level student of Petrochemical Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt, Demain Okoligwe, who was nabbed for allegedly killing his girlfriend at his residence along NTA Road, Ozuoba, Port Harcourt.

The police made a statement while addressing newsmen on Friday, 27th of October, 2023.

The statement reads:

“On Wednesday,25th of October,2023, at about 15:30 hours, operatives of Ozuoba division received a complaint from a good samaritan and a neighbour, we intend to withhold the name please, of road 20 at the back of NTA Ozuoba on Wednesday at about 14:00 hours, that he came to report that he went to his house where one Demian Okoligwe, a fellow tenant and perceived a very bad odour and immediately rush to the police station, where the DPO lead detective to the scene, on arrival the door was forcefully open and a Ghana must go bag containing a lifeless body was recovered back to the station and the search of the fleeing suspects who happened to be the boyfriend of the deceased one Demian Okoligwe, male 24 years, a Petrochemical Engineer and 400 level of UNIPORT and the boyfriend of the victim also an occupant of the house.

“Now the prime suspect who was also traced last with the deceased was arrested for an inquiry of the lifeless body and butchered body of Justin Otuene, Female, 20 years old, a biochemistry 300 level student at UNIPORT was recovered and deposited at the mortuary.

“Preliminary investigation is in progress, the case has been transferred to state CID for this create investigation meanwhile a command has corded with the family of the deceased while urging young ladies to be conscious and careful about persons which they get involved within the forms of relationships.
