Ribadu Meets U.S. Lawmakers in Abuja, Urges Stronger Counter-Terrorism Partnership

The meeting between Nigerian officials and a U.S. congressional delegation follows high-level security discussions held in Washington last month.

Led by senior members of the U.S. House of Representatives, including Mario Díaz-Balart, Norma Torres, Scott Franklin, Juan Ciscomani, and Riley Moore, the delegation engaged in further talks on enhancing security cooperation.

According to the Nigerian side, the country is ready to deepen collaboration with the United States in counter-terrorism, regional stability, and the broader strategic security partnership.

In a statement, it was noted that U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, also participated, underscoring the significance both nations place on the dialogue.

Discussions centered on counter-terrorism coordination, regional stability, and reinforcing the Nigeria-U.S. security alliance.

The Nigerian representative expressed optimism that the engagement would “deepen trust, collaboration, and shared commitment to peace and security.”
