A South African man faced vigilante justice as angry residents handcuffed him to a tree and subjected him to a brutal beating after he was accused of stealing litchis from a resident.
A Facebook user who shared the story said the alleged thief had two burning incense sticks placed near his feet as a form of torture.
He said the thief was confronted by the homeowner and family members after he reportedly trespassed onto the property and pilfered litchis from various trees.
The homeowner and family members restrained the alleged thief to a tree, where he endured whipping with sjamboks and sticks.
Law enforcement officers rescued the suspect after they were called to the scene of the incident.
Surprisingly, the homeowner opted not to pursue a criminal case of theft, and the suspect was not detained.
During an interview, the injured man chose not to file a case of assault with Intention to do Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) and declined medical treatment before leaving the scene. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
