Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has voiced his criticism regarding the actions of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, who recently procured a fleet of foreign vehicles for the state’s security personnel, while disregarding locally manufactured options.
As reported by FRESHREPORTERS MEDIA, Otti unveiled the “Operation Crush” initiative, a collaborative task force comprised of police, army, navy, and other security agencies. Additionally, he presented 20 Hilux patrol vans generously provided by the administration to support security efforts in the state.
Nevertheless, citizens of Nigeria have expressed disappointment with the governor’s decision to overlook domestic companies such as Innoson and Nord, instead favoring an overseas manufacturer.
Omokri took to Twitter to share his viewpoint on the matter, emphasizing that Otti, hailing from the South East region, opted for Toyota Hilux vehicles rather than supporting Innoson Motors.
Highlighting a positive example, Omokri pointed out that Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State had earlier exhibited commendable leadership by procuring one hundred Innoson Motors vehicles for security personnel in July.
Omokri further underscored the actions of Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, who invested in 3500 trucks valued at ₦63 billion from ANAMMCO, demonstrating that effective leadership transcends factors such as ethnicity.
The former presidential aide commended Fintiri and Dangote for showcasing sound leadership qualities that go beyond considerations of ethnicity or religion.
He wrote: “Alex Otti, a Southeastern Governor, who should help promote Innoson Motors, a Nigerian company of Southeastern origin, bought twenty Toyota Hilux vehicles for security operatives in Abia state.
“Meanwhile, Umaru Fintiri, a Northern Governor, purchased one hundred Innoson Motors Vehicles for security operatives in Adamawa state just last month.
“Aliko Dangote, a Northern Fulani, also purchased 3500 trucks worth ₦63 billion from ANAMMCO, a Nigerian company of Southeastern origin.
“Good leadership transcends ethnicity. And that is what the Adamawa Governor and Dangote have demonstrated. Your neighbour can love you better than your brother.
“Cain killed Abel, but the Good Samaritan saved the Jews, yet Jews don’t mix with the Samaritans. This is a message for some ‘Jews’. That is why you should never blindly support your brother when your neighbour is better.
“One Nigeria is possible. One Nigeria is workable. One Nigeria is laudable. Embrace it! Think competency, not ethnicity. Am I speaking to somebody?”…[CONTINUE READING HERE]
