The Lagos State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, on Wednesday, which mark the beginning of Fuel Subsidy Removal Protest asked the Nigerian government to provide palliatives to the citizens.
According to the NLC, the decision to embark on the peaceful protest by organised labour was not to fight the government but to demand good palliatives for the people of Nigeria.
The protesters converged at the State Capital, Ikeja area of Lagos.
The Deputy President of NLC, Adeyanju Adewale, while speaking and addressing the protesters who converged at Ikeja, Lagos, Wednesday morning stressed that organised labour was not out to fight the government.
He said,
“They should not see us as if we are fighting them (government), we are not fighting them (government), what we are asking for is to give us sound palliative incentives that will take care of our families. I think that is our struggle, it is a struggle of survival”
