U.S. President Donald Trump has delivered a scathing critique of the Super Bowl halftime show, branding it “absolutely terrible” and “one of the worst ever” in a strongly worded social media post on Sunday night.
Trump asserted the performance was an “affront to the greatness of America,” claiming it fell short of the nation’s standards for success, creativity, and excellence. He further criticised the choreography and language, deeming them unsuitable for the young global audience.
“This ‘show’ is just a slap in the face to our country,” he wrote, adding that he found “nothing inspirational” in it. The President also dismissed positive media reviews, suggesting they were out of touch with the “real world.”
The post also included criticism of a recent NFL kick-off rule change, which Trump called on the league to reverse.
His comments have ignited a heated online debate, with supporters aligning with his view and critics accusing him of injecting politics into a mainstream cultural event.
