Under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative has placed a significant focus on preventative care and the development of infrastructure to support it.
However, the administration recognises that emergencies can strike at any time.
This was made known via a statement by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate, on Sunday, 2nd of February 2025.
Pate disclosed that with Tinubu’s leadership, efforts are underway to revolutionise how medical emergencies are managed across Nigeria.
Pate’s statement reads:
“Within the ambit of H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, #officialABAT National Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (#NHSRII), we have placed a strong emphasis on preventative care and building out the enabling infrastructure to support it.
“But we fully recognize that accidents happen. Sudden emergencies do occur when least expected. It is under Mr. President’s compassionate leadership that we have been empowered to transform the way medical emergencies are handled from end-to-end across our dear nation.
“The National Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (#NEMSAS) is at an advanced stage as we prioritize emergency services for rural dwellers through the establishment of the Rural Emergency Service and Maternal Transport (#RESMAT) system in close collaboration with state and local governments.
