Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, held a private meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, 21st of July 2025.
The meeting took place shortly after Kwankwaso attended the Nigeria Forest Economy Summit at the State House Conference Centre.
This marks the second known meeting between the two political figures since Tinubu assumed office in 2023.
Their first encounter occurred on June 9, 2023, when Kwankwaso visited the President at Aso Rock shortly after his inauguration.
Although the details of Monday’s discussions remain undisclosed, sources confirm the talks were held behind closed doors at Tinubu’s official residence, with limited access.
Kwankwaso, a former Minister of Defence and NNPP’s 2023 presidential candidate, remains a key political force in the North.
His visit has sparked fresh speculation about potential political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections, as both leaders seek to consolidate influence across the country.
