President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. The global summit brings together world leaders to deliberate on critical issues of climate action and sustainable development.
The President’s aircraft touched down at the Presidential Wing of Zayed International Airport late on Sunday, January 11. He was formally received by the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al Shamsi, and Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.
President Tinubu traveled to the UAE following a working holiday in Europe, where he held meetings with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and French President Emmanuel Macron. He is joined in Abu Dhabi by key Nigerian officials, including the Ministers of Budget and Economic Planning, and Industry, Trade and Investment.
This visit underscores Nigeria’s active role in international sustainability forums and marks a continued strengthening of diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.
