President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (Rtd.), on his 84th birthday today, Sunday, August 17, 2025.
He described the elder statesman as a key figure in Nigeria’s history whose influence shaped the nation’s political and governance structures.
In a goodwill message, Tinubu praised Babangida’s role in fostering unity and national development, noting that his leadership years left indelible marks on the country.
He further commended the former head of state for his contributions to peacebuilding and nationhood even after leaving office.
The president wished the Minna-based retired general continued good health, strength, and many more years to offer guidance and wisdom to the nation.
