Pregnant Woman Suffers Miscarriage As Security Forces Rescue Kidnap Victims In Kogi

In an extraordinary turn of events, a remarkable collaboration between the valiant security forces and vigilant local community members has resulted in the successful liberation of three individuals who were forcefully taken captive by a group of armed assailants on the bustling Lokoja-Abuja highway.

The trio, identified as Chioma Anaghara, a 31-year-old, Esiongwu Lilian Chidimma, a 36-year-old, and Ibe Ugochi, a 40-year-old, all from Imo State, were seized along with ten other unfortunate persons last Thursday.

Mr. Dauda Aliyu, the Chairman of the Kogi/Koto Local Government Area, confirm the incident in a statement on Monday of May 29.

He attributed the joyous turn of events to the unwavering commitment and devotion displayed by the indomitable security operatives who ceaselessly toiled for the liberation of these captive souls.

In a poignant revelation, it was further divulged that during the daring operation to secure their freedom, one of the three previously captive individuals, who bore the precious gift of new life within, tragically suffered a miscarriage, underscoring the immense challenges and perils endured during this noble rescue mission.

“Following the initial rescue of ten victims on Friday, as reported by Retired Commodore Jerry Omodara, the Security Adviser (SA) to Gov. Yahaya Bello, the recent development marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities in the region,” he said.

“Despite their previous successful rescue mission on Friday, the security forces continued their relentless pursuit of the criminals responsible for these heinous acts.”

The LG boss stated that the administration of Governor Bello remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens, adding that the victim will be left to suffer at the hands of criminal elements. The security operatives are determined to root out criminals from every corner of the state.
