India is appalled by a murder case in which a wife, six months pregnant with twins, is said to have been chained to a bed and burnt alive by her husband.
According to the police, Sukhdev, the husband of the 23-year-old lady known only as Pinky, killed her on Friday after they got into a fight at their house in Buled Nangal village in the Rayya area of Amritsar, close to the Pakistani border.
According to authorities, Sukhdev reportedly attacked her, bound her to a bed in their front garden, and lit her on fire.
Sadly, Pinky passed away instantly, and the husband escaped before being found, detained, and accused of her murder.
According to the police, the couple had a tense relationship and frequently argued over a variety of issues.
“India’s National Commission for Women said in a post to X: ‘Appalled by the horrifying incident in Amritsar where a man allegedly set his pregnant wife on fire. The brutality of this act is unimaginable.
