The Ogun State Police Command has announced plans to arrest and prosecute a TikTok user identified as Mirabel, following her apparent admission that a recent rape allegation she made was fabricated.
Mirabel reportedly made the confession during a viral phone conversation with social media influencer VeryDarkMan (VDM). In the widely circulated audio, she was heard apologising and conceding that parts of her original story were untrue.
According to a police source, authorities have been monitoring the situation and intend to take Mirabel into custody once she is discharged from the hospital where she is currently receiving treatment.
Her initial allegation—made on TikTok—claimed she was attacked and raped by a stranger who forced his way into her apartment in the Ogijo area of Ogun State. The post drew significant public outrage and widespread online attention.
Reacting to the latest turn of events, police spokesperson Omolola Odutola stated that the command is reviewing the matter and will issue an official update in due course.
