The Federal Government has begun processing payments for outstanding capital projects from the 2024 budget, while also taking steps to settle inherited liabilities from past administrations.
According to an official update, full implementation of capital components under both the 2024 and 2025 budgets is expected to be completed on or before March 31, 2026.
For the 2025 capital budget, all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) have been directed to submit or upload their cash plans by the close of business on Monday, February 23, 2026. Payment processing is set to commence immediately following the submissions.
The development reflects a renewed push to accelerate project execution and address lingering financial commitments.
