In a tragic turn of events, officers searching for a missing 14-year-old boy, Eric Lin, have discovered a body in Warrington, Cheshire.
Eric had been reported missing from the Greater Manchester area, and authorities believed he may have taken a bus to Cheshire.
The news of the body’s discovery was confirmed by Greater Manchester Police, although formal identification is yet to be carried out, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.
Cheshire Constabulary had issued several appeals following Eric’s disappearance on Sunday, July 2. However, hopes were dashed when the body was found in Warrington.
The police have stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery, and Eric’s family has been informed of the development.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police expressed condolences, saying, “Firstly, our thoughts remain with Eric’s loved ones at this difficult time.
Formal identification is yet to take place, so we would ask that they have privacy whilst the investigation continues.” The authorities are now working on identifying the body to officially confirm if it is that of the missing teenager.
