The operatives of the Anambra State police revealed it has arrested one 50 year old woman, identified as Ukamaka Udeugbo, for b£ating up her aged mother as captured in a trending video.
It was gathered that suspect was arrested on Saturday, 15th of July, 2023 in Umudunu village, Abagana in the Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.
Ukamaka in a video that went viral on social media was seen fl0gging her nak3d 75 year old mum repeatedly and throwing buckets of water on her as she lay helplessly on the floor.
Ikenga Tochukwu, who’s the State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this in a statement on Sunday, 16th of July, 2023.
The statement reads,
“The suspect who fl0gged the nak3d aged woman repeatedly and threw buckets of water on her while lying on the floor has been arrested and detained for prosecution,”.
The PPRO, had noted that the state Commissioner of Police, in person of Aderemi Adeoye has ordered that the transfer of the case to the State CID in the public interest.
He stressed that the CP has authorized that the aged woman be handed to the Commissioner for Women Affairs for adequate care by the Anambra State government.
