The Lagos State Police Command has announced that they have detained a man who reportedly beat his ex-wife with a stone for allegedly making markings on their children’s head for their “spiritual protection”.
Mary Ololuwa was admitted to the hospital as a result of the attack by her husband, Morekeji “Keji” Olamilekan.
Following the incident, witnesses caught Keji and handed him over to the police.
However, the victim reported the incident to the Owode Onirin Police Division on Thursday, January 25, at approximately 3 p.m., according to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, who confirmed Keji’s arrest.
He claimed that the girl was bleeding from the wounds that the suspect was accused of inflicting when she was escorted to the station by several supporters.
According to the spokeswoman, the woman told the police at the counter everything that had happened to her.
The victim told the police that she was approached by her ex-husband Olamilekan Morekeji on Thursday at around 2:00 p.m. as she was heading to her place of business in the Bako Estate neighborhood of Weighbridge Ajegunle. Olamilekan Morekeji inquired about their children.
He was so enraged by her reply that he struck her in the head with a large stone.
According to Hundeyin, the case will be forwarded to the command’s Gender Unit for additional examination. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
