On Tuesday, August 1, the Osun State Police Command held a press conference where they paradedthree suspects connected to an alleged attack on a Celestial Church situated in Odu Village near Osogbo.
According to the police, the suspects abducted 12 members of the church, but fortunately, the victims managed to escape when they encountered hunters and local volunteers who responded to a distress call.
Disturbingly, during the incident, one member of the church was reportedly subjected to a sexual assault by the suspects.
In response to the incident, Yemisi Opalola, the state’s police spokesperson, addressed the media and advised religious bodies to refrain from holding programmes late at night or early in the morning, especially in isolated areas.
Opalola also stated that the suspects will undergo thorough interrogation as investigations continue. (CONTINUE READING HERE)
