The Imo State Police Command has apprehended a 22-year-old man identified as Obinna Ugochukwu, in connection with the brutal killing of his friend, Nwachukwu Stanley. The incident, which occurred in Imo State, has sent shockwaves through the community.
According to the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Okoye, the arrest came after a murder case was reported at the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (SCIID).
The command’s Forensic Experts conducted a thorough analysis, leading to the identification and subsequent apprehension of the suspect, who hails from Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.
During the course of the investigation, the suspect reportedly confessed to repeatedly stabbing his friend, Nwachukwu Stanley, who also hailed from Umuoma in Ikeduru L.G.A.
The fatal attack occurred while Stanley was asleep, allegedly stemming from a misunderstanding between the two individuals.
The suspect claimed that Stanley had failed to share his portion of the $3,000 they had fraudulently obtained from a cyber-crime deal.
The police spokesperson, SP Okoye, revealed that the lifeless body of the victim has been transported to the morgue, pending further procedures. The suspect, Obinna Ugochukwu, will face charges in court once the investigation concludes.
