NSCDC, Amotekun, O.P.C., and local hunters joined forces to launch a bush combing operation via Oke-Osun, Ikere/Igbo-Okah, and to the dense forests around the Iju/Ikere line, with the goal of driving out criminal elements, particularly kidnappers, from the State.
Five alleged kidnappers identified as Usman Jelili, Mohammed Bande, Abubakar Aliu, Isah Abdullahi, and Suleiman Abdullahi were arrested during the operation.
Even though the suspects claimed to be herdsmen during questioning, it turned out that none of them actually owned any livestock, and none of the cattle in the forest where they were arrested were found with them.
Two motorcycles, a cutlass, a jack knife/dagger, and four phones were among the things found from the suspects, DSP Abutu, the command spokeswoman, who confirmed the arrest to reporters said. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
