Four persons have reportedly been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly beating and robbing state commissioner of the environment Muhammad Sadiq of his official vehicle and other belongings.
A barreta weapon, three live rounds of ammo, two anti-tracking devices, phones, and foreign currency were discovered by the police in the stolen Toyota Hilux.
Isa Adamu, 55, of Tudun Wada, Sokoto State; Mustapha Muhammad, 47, of Lelewalji, Girei Local Government Area; and Salihu Buhari, 38, and Abdullahi Abubakar, 35, both of Garoua in the Cameroon Republic, are among those arrested, according to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
Nguroje claims that the suspects, who had attacked the Commissioner early in the morning, were apprehended on Monday by a combined squad of police officers affiliated with the Girei Divisional Police Headquarters. He was brought to a hospital, where he is still undergoing treatment.
According to him, the police implemented an operational approach that proved successful in curbing various criminal activities both inside and outside the state capital, including armed robbery, kidnapping, and shila gangsterism. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
