Police Advise Nigerians: Prioritize Personal Safety, Do Not Fïght Arméd Crimïnals

The Nigeria Police Force has issued clear guidance to the public, advising citizens to prioritize their personal safety above all else when faced with dangerous criminal situations.

During a television interview, the Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, urged people to remain calm and avoid any form of resistance or confrontation with armed criminals. He warned that fighting back could escalate the situation and lead to greater harm.

Hundeyin emphasized that preserving one’s life is paramount and that law enforcement is better positioned to apprehend criminals afterward. He stated, “In the unfortunate event that you find yourself among criminals, do not struggle, do not fight, just stay calm and save your life first. We can always go after these criminals to have them arrested.”

The police spokesman also reported recent successes, including the arrest of members of a notorious ‘One-Chance’ criminal gang in Abuja who were linked to the murder of a lawyer. He noted that the victim’s phone was recovered as part of the operation.
