Former US President, Barack Obama has mourned the Former Brazilian Star and the world legend footballer, Pele who died on 29 Dec.
Obama shared the heartwarming moment he had with Pele via his handle, acknowledging him as the ‘greatest to ever play the beautiful game’
“Pelé was one of the greatest to ever play the beautiful game. And as one of the most recognizable athletes in the world, he understood the power of sports to bring people together. Our thoughts are with his family and everyone who loved and admired him.” Obama said
Pele died at the age of 82 after he was unable to respond to treatment. He first diagnosed for cancer in 2021, where constant medication was prescribed for him. In November, he was rushed to the after where he was diagnosed with respiratory illness which took his life.
