PDP Youths Threaten To Sue Akeredolu For Ruling From Ibadan

PDP Youth Threaten Legal Action Against Governor Akeredolu for Governing from Ibadan

In Ondo State, youth leaders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are considering legal action against Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for not resuming his official duties in the state.

Governor Akeredolu, who returned to Nigeria last month after a medical trip to Germany, has been staying at his residence in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, instead of resuming his responsibilities as the governor of Ondo State.

This situation has stirred reactions from various quarters within the state.

Previously, we reported that PDP youth leaders issued a three-day ultimatum to Governor Akeredolu to return to Ondo State, and this ultimatum expired on Thursday.

Oluyi Tayo, the Convener of the PDP youth wing, spoke at the state secretariat of the party in Akure on Friday, expressing their intention to take legal action against the governor if he continues to avoid returning to the state.

Tayo stated, “It is essential that the House of Assembly, in the best interest of our state and its citizens, upholds the constitutional provisions to ensure the government’s continued and effective operation.”

“As the primary opposition party, we are fully prepared to take the governor to court, or even the Speaker, if they fail to invoke Section 189(4) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria concerning him.”
