Pastor Tobi has responded to a viral comedy skit by American comedian Druski, condemning the trend of comedians targeting religious institutions for humor. He criticized the practice, suggesting it often stems from a lack of material, stating, “When these [comedians] run out of jokes, they just go to the church.”
He argued that many in the entertainment industry, including actors and actresses, benefited from church support systems during their upbringing. Defending the church’s community role, Pastor Tobi made a striking comparison: “The churches give to their communities more than your rappers do. The most stingy pastor is still a better giver than the greatest rapper because he’s giving out of what he doesn’t have.”
Making his personal stance clear, he concluded that he finds nothing funny about comedians using the church as a punchline, stating bluntly, “Don’t send it to me… It’s not funny, and we are not laughing.”
His comments have sparked a divided online reaction, with some supporting his defense of the church and others advocating for unrestricted comedic expression.
