The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has cautioned Nigerians to shun online loan platforms, describing them as “agents of the devil in covenant with the spirit of debt.”
He raised the alarm during Sunday’s service in Abuja, linking the apps to rising cases of harassment, depression, and even suicide.
Enenche lamented that many Nigerians, lured by promises of quick financial relief, end up trapped in cycles of intimidation and embarrassment.
According to him, loan companies often employ extreme tactics, including threats, invasive calls, and even defamatory publications such as fake obituaries against debtors.
The cleric urged Christians to resist the lure of easy money, warning that such practices were destructive to both faith and wellbeing.
His remarks come amid growing public criticism of loan apps in Nigeria over alleged privacy breaches and unethical debt recovery methods.
