Oyo Police Foil K!dnapping Attempt, Rescue Victim in Bush Combing Operation

The Oyo State Police Command has foiled a kidnapping attempt and successfully rescued a victim following a rapid response operation in the Ojongbodu area. The incident began when a distress call was received from a resident, Alimot, reporting that armed kidnappers had invaded her brother’s home.

During the attack, the assailants abducted Haruna Lawal from Olorunda Village and fled the scene with his motorcycle. Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Femi Haruna, police operatives were immediately deployed to the area and launched an aggressive bush-combing operation to track the kidnappers.

The presence of approaching police patrol vehicles with blaring sirens caused the kidnappers to panic. They abandoned the victim and escaped into the surrounding area. The victim was rescued alive but sustained a head injury during the abduction. He was quickly transported to the General Hospital in Oyo, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

The Police Command has commended the swift response and urged residents to remain vigilant and continue providing timely, credible information to security agencies to bolster community safety efforts.
