Over 20,000 Applicants Begin Nigerian Air Force 2025 Nationwide Recruitment Tests

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched the Zonal General Aptitude Test for its 2025 recruitment drive, with more than 20,000 candidates sitting for the exams nationwide. The testing phase, a critical part of the Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 46 Recruitment Exercise, commenced on December 13 and continued through the weekend.

To ensure widespread access and equity, the exams were conducted simultaneously across 15 designated centres spanning all six geopolitical zones of the country. The test locations include Sokoto, Minna, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, Yola, Makurdi, Jos, Ilorin, Ipetu Ijesa, Enugu, Benin, Port Harcourt, and Ikeja.

In an official statement, the NAF emphasized that the aptitude test underscores its dedication to a transparent and merit-based selection process. Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, described this stage as vital for identifying disciplined, capable, and driven individuals for military service.

“The future operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Air Force depends largely on the quality of personnel recruited at the entry level,” the statement noted, clarifying that only candidates meeting the established standards will advance to subsequent screening and training phases.

This large-scale recruitment exercise is a strategic initiative by the NAF to bolster its manpower in response to increasing national security requirements. Successful candidates will proceed to undergo intensive basic military training to prepare them for active duty.
