Osun Is Tinubu’s Home, Don’t Turn It Into a Battleground – Gov. Adeleke Tells Security Agencies

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has cautioned security agencies against turning the state into a political battlefield.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the Governor stressed that Osun, being the home state of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, must remain peaceful.

He made the call during the decoration ceremony of his Aide-De-Camp (ADC), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ahmed Bio Abdulraman, at the Government House in Osogbo.

The event was attended by key security chiefs, including the State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, NSCDC Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo, FRSC Sector Commander Leye Adegboyega, and other heads of security agencies.

Governor Adeleke praised the Nigeria Police Force for its professionalism, commending both the Inspector General of Police and the Osun Command for their discipline. He singled out Commissioner Gotan for his leadership style, which he said has helped promote peace across the state.

The Governor also applauded the synergy among security agencies in Osun but urged them to remain neutral in politics.

“We should continue to maintain a level playing field. This is the home state of Mr. President. Mr. President belongs to all of us. Osun should not be turned into a battleground,” he emphasised.

Speaking on the promotion of his ADC, Adeleke described DSP Abdulraman as a disciplined and loyal officer who represents the values of the Nigeria Police.

“I am happy today over the promotion of my ADC. He is a good representative of the police,” the Governor said, adding that the Force remains a vital institution in Nigeria’s growth and stability.

He further praised the sacrifices of security operatives nationwide, calling the Nigeria Police a “blessed organisation” deserving of gratitude from both citizens and the government.

In his goodwill message, Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan congratulated DSP Abdulraman and applauded his record of service. He reminded him that promotion comes with greater responsibility and encouraged him to remain committed to discipline, professionalism, and the ideals of policing.

Gotan reaffirmed that the Osun Command will continue to uphold fairness, human rights, and respect for the rule of law. He also assured the Governor of their readiness to sustain peace and order in the state, noting that government support has played a crucial role in their operations.
