Former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has set up a fresh political group in Osun State amid the ongoing conflict within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the region.
This new faction, known as the Omoluabi Caucus of the APC, was formally inaugurated by the ex-Governor in his hometown of Ilesa on Tuesday.
Aregbesola emphasized his dedication to the progressive principles of the APC, noting that political parties are a blend of diverse interests and tendencies.

The party faces defeat whenever this unity is fractured.”
Aregbesola also highlighted that the introduction of the Omoluabi Caucus is aimed at revitalizing their path in progressive politics, inspired by figures like Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Chief Bola Ige, who embody the Omoluabi values.
He further acknowledged that the party’s defeat in the previous gubernatorial election was linked to a departure from progressive ideals. However, he expressed confidence that the party would regain its winning momentum.
