OGUN: Army hands over seized 176kg of Indian h€mp, suspect to NDLEA

On Thursday at Abeokuta, the 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Abeokuta had handed over 176 kilograms of seized Indian hemp to the NDLEA.

Brigade spokesman, Lt. Mohammed Goni, said in Abeokuta on Saturday that the Garrison Commander, Col. Legborsi Nule, had represented the Brigade Commander, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Aminu to hand over the contraband to the anti-narcotic agency.

Goni said that the army arrested one Fatai Bankole, 25, in possession of the drugs on Jan. 6 at Imeko while patrolling the Imeko-Abeokuta Road in Ogun State.

Nule in his words, ‘’the army will continue to sustain effort on collaborating with security agencies to rid the state of crimes and all forms of criminality,’’ Gobi quoted Nule.

He re-emphasized the commitment that of the brigade to ensure that troops maintained high standards and professionalism at all times in discharging their duties.

The NDLEA Commandant in Ogun, Mrs Jane Odili, received the drugs and the suspect and commended the effort of the brigade and solicited for more collaboration with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies…[CONTINUE READING HERE]>>
