The Former Governor of Anambra state, Mr. Peter Obi, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Super Eagles captain and celebrated goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, in Lagos.
Obi described Rufai as one of the finest players of his generation, recalling his heroics in goal that brought pride to millions of Nigerians.
Reflecting on the plight of many Nigerian heroes who face hardship after their years of service, Obi stressed the need for the country to honour those who have contributed immensely to its growth.
“We must all work together to create the Nigeria of our dreams, where service and sacrifice are honoured, where our heroes in all spheres of life are not forgotten, and where every citizen can live with dignity and security,” Obi stated in a post on his X handle.
